Can’t Stop Crying

Dear God: The other people in business class think I’m crazy, but I can’t stop crying. The flight attendant just brought me tissues. How do I explain to this plane full of strangers that you heard me before I called and made a plan to comfort me?

Three weeks ago I’d traveled 26 hours to see my children and grandchildren in Okinawa. Now on my way home to the U.S., I was holding on by a thread. In Tokyo, I barely had enough time to make my connection. After running through the airport with my luggage, the plane to San Francisco was boarding and I was still in line at immigration. Heart pounding and tears brimming, I made it to the gate and the attendant took my boarding pass and gave me another. And that’s when I started crying. I’d been bumped to business class for the nine-plus hour trip.

Thank you for caring for my needs just as you promised—before I called. “Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.” Isaiah 65:24 NIV

In Jesus’ name. Amen
