To Trust People

People come in all sizes and shapes, with different beliefs, backgrounds and motives. As much as we may want to, it’s hard to trust people we don’t know. There is simply no context for a relationship.

It was hard for Jesus to trust people too.

“Because of the miraculous signs Jesus did in Jerusalem at the Passover celebration, many began to trust in him. But Jesus didn’t trust them, because he knew all about people. No one needed to tell him about human nature, for he knew what was in each person’s heart” (John 2:23-25, NLT).

We humans are fickle, unpredictable and self-focused. The only way this can change is by our spending time with Jesus and contemplating his words. Through the power of his Spirit we can be transformed into his likeness.
