The Valley of Shadows

This side of eternity is fraught with uncertainty and loss. Each one who has ever lived on this planet, knows that our days are filled with hardship, difficulty and struggle. Yet the Psalmist understood that things could be a lot worse if we didn’t have the assurance of divine companionship. “Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.” —Psalm 23:4
