I recently came home after a long day at work and noticed that our house was decked out. There were white lights, red ribbons, greenery, and brightly wrapped gifts throughout…With the glow of our faux-fireplace, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. She knows that when our daughter returns, it will be a welcomed change for her to enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of the holidays with her family. Love motivates my wife to hang the lights, festoon the doorways, and decorate the windows with mementos of the holiday season.
He Is Preparing A Place
“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:1-3, NASB).
The only love that is stronger than the love of a mother for her child is the love that Jesus has for us. He has promised to prepare a place for us, and one day soon He is going to take us there. I can hardly wait to see what He’s done with the decorating, and one day soon I will have the opportunity to see it all…when He takes me by the hand and shows me around. It will be even more exciting than coming home for the holidays to be with family!
