Step one: Know that you are loved. No matter what other people have told you or done to you, the fact is that God loves you so much He would rather die than live without you. This fact cannot be changed by the job you do, the relationship you are in (or are not in), your education (or lack of it), or even your morality (or lack of it).
“God loved the world so much, that he gave his one and only Son, so that whoever trusted him would not die, but instead would enjoy eternal life” (John 3:16).
“Do not be afraid, little flock. It is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32).
“Not even a sparrow falls to the ground without God noticing. God even knows how many hairs you have on your head. The fact is, you are worth even more than many sparrows” (Matthew 10:29-31).
“The Father himself loves you” (John 16:27).
“I no longer call you servants; I call you friends. . . . You did not choose me, but I chose you” (John 15:15-16).
“This is real love: Not our love for God, but God’s love for us” (1 John 4:10).
No matter what question confronts you, no matter how twisted and pressured your mind feels, begin your look for answers by giving some attention to this rock-solid, absolute, bomb-proof fact: You are loved by God so much that He would rather die than live without you. This is Step One in finding wise answers to every important question in life.
