Compliments

Dear God: It’s amazing how one compliment or word of praise can change a day! Heading out to the car after our small-group meeting last Thursday, Vince just sidled over to me and said in a low voice: “You guys have an awesome marriage. And I see how you treat Lisa – that’s amazing, man. Good job.”

Wow. I had never thought much about it; Lisa’s so incredible that being good to her isn’t exactly noble. But I glowed for the rest of the week.

Please help me to be more diligent and proactive about finding compliments to say to the people in my life. It’s such a game-changer when we praise and encourage those we love. I’d like to be more like you were here on earth, “always going around changing water into wine.” Making every occasion a party.
