Putting It All Together

If you know God loves you, if you have confessed your sins and received his forgiveness, and if you have trusted God with your future and started doing what he says, then you’re ready to receive God’s help in making the right decisions. Whether it be in your relationships, at school and on the job, in your political actions and all the other areas that require important choices, you need to seek God’s guidance.

If you are already a follower of Jesus, take a moment to review your relationship with him. Are you confident of his love? Have you received forgiveness for everything that causes you regret and remorse? Are you regularly reading the Bible for instruction in how to live?

If you have not yet become a follower of Jesus, I invite you to stop reading right now, and pray. (“Pray” is just a fancy word for talking to God.)  If possible find a place where you can be alone and say something like this out loud: “God, the Bible says you love me. Right now, I want to say thank you for loving me. Please keep on loving me. I’ve done some really stupid things that have hurt others and hurt myself. I ask you to forgive me for those stupid things and ask you to turn my life around. I want to live according to your instructions, and I’m going to need your help doing that. Please help me.”

After you pray that prayer, sit quietly for a few minutes. Then as soon as possible find another follower of Jesus, and tell that person about your experience. You can write us here at Answers for Me and we’ll be happy to help you take the next steps in connecting personally with God through Jesus.
