Present Grief

Dear God: Right now I have several friends that are experiencing GRIEF. Some are grieving because of the loss of a loved one. Some grieve because of hurts and illness. Lord Jesus, in Mark 3:5, I read that You grieved because others misunderstood You. Grief happens to all of us.
Since You know grief from personal experience, be near those in grief today. It’s so easy, in times of grief, to question – Where are You? Do You even care? Why are You absent from me? You asked that question as you hung upon the cross. "Why have You forsaken me?" Jesus, please help my friends to accept Your promise, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." (Heb. 13:5). You mean that Lord! Help us to experience Your nearness and listen to Your quiet voice. Because in Isaiah 53:4 You assure us that "You have borne our grief and carried our sorrow."
Enable us to wait quietly on You, knowing that whatever state grief may have put us into, You will have compassion upon us.
In Jesus' name. Amen!
