Cancer Patients

Dear God: Today I want to pray for and uphold before You those who are receiving chemotherapy treatment for cancer. This can be a most discouraging time for them. They receive their treatment, feel drained and want only to crash and sleep it off.
Please draw near them and offer Your abiding presence. Help them to put their trust in You, as did the Psalmist: "What time I am afraid, I will trust in You."1 Father, fulfill that prayer for each one. Then when they feel they have no energy to lift a hand or move a foot, grant them a special measure of Your strength.2 In their distress, let them call upon You knowing that Your ear is open to their cry.3
Father, grant special courage and patience to those who care for such individuals. They also need Your special strength to cope with such an issue. Father, let Your healing touch be felt by all in need of healing.
